    Sobre o Curso

This Cancer Rehabilitation Manual includes contributions by many authors with expertise and interest in the rehabilitation of cancer survivors. It comprises chapters discussing the continuum of care including hospital or inpatient level of services as well as services provided in outpatient or ambulatory settings. Because the survival of many types of cancer is increasing, it is likely that many cancer patients and survivors will need rehabilitation for years and, possibly, for their lifetime. Furthermore, some of the therapeutic interventions used in the treatment of cancer have side effects directly associated with impairments that benefit from rehabilitation interventions. The need for a better understanding of cancer, its potential negative effects on functioning, and the positive impact of a rehabilitation program on the quality of life of persons with cancer has never been greater. This Cancer Rehabilitation Manual is an important contribution to the knowledge base in this field of study and, I believe, will be used and cited often by many colleagues around the world. Sinopse

SinopseThis textbook aims to help professionals working in the field of rehabilitation to expand their knowledge, focusing on clinical practice, an area of expertise that has been gaining increasing relevance. Its first Brazilian edition, in Portuguese, met a more circumspect need and, while discussing the subject in international forums, launched the idea of a broader construction, with a global view and focus. A greater reach means not only including references from various corners of the globe and publishing in English, in electronic format. This edition was created with a view to accessibility, both with regard to its content and the desire to promote greater access to cancer care, which is still far from what it should be.

E-book with full accessibility, with audio description of all images and tables.
